“Tatreez Takeout” is inspired by Wafa’s experience growing up with her mother, learning Palestinian embroidery. When she was a child, her mother would have her and her sisters draw out the patterns they wanted to embroider as a way to plan for the project. Wafa created “Tatreez Takeout” in 2020, as a virtual tatreez program and resource, that includes the patterns, stitching strategy, meaning, color recommendations, oral history interviews, regional information and history, if possible. Whenever available, Wafa also includes the source dress (thobe) that the pattern was created from.

All pattern purchases are final sale. After purchase, you will be emailed a link to download the pattern. The link expires after 24 hours. All patterns are printable on standard letter paper size.
